Company
We are pioneering a new model of social advertising that makes buying and selling ads easier, more profitable, and ultimately, more relevant for everyone.
Our team is passionate about finding a better way for independent websites to thrive, and is always looking for others who think advertising can be inspired, fun and social. Adroll is based in San Francisco, California.
Who Rolled This Out?
Adroll was started by a bunch of high-tech professionals frustrated by the irrelevant ads appearing on our favorite sites. We decided a new model was needed in which advertising is measurable, effective, and targeted. We're pleased that publishers and advertisers agree.
- Jared Kopf, President, CEO
Before starting Adroll.com, Jared Kopf was a member of the founding team at Slide.com, where he was in charge of "distribution." From 2004-2006, he helped start (and launch) a number of companies as a founding EIR at Midtown Doornail, a technology incubator in San Francisco. Previously, Jared worked for Peter Thiel at Clarium Capital Management and PayPal. Before that he co-founded Justarrive, a venture backed e-ticketing company. Jared graduated from Stanford University with a self-designed major in computer science and product design, and a major in English. He was named one of the top 30 entrepreneurs under 30 by Business Week in 2007. He and Aaron became friends in 1996 when Aaron first arrived at Stanford.
- Aaron Bell, CTO & Bit Juggler
Aaron started programming from a young age, joining Microsoft while attending high school outside Seattle. Just before starting Adroll.com, he worked at Stottler-Henke Artificial Intelligence, developing AI algorithms and systems to help NASA schedule and launch missions. Which is almost as complicated as ads. But hey, it's not rocket science... Aaron graduated from Stanford University with a major in computer science. He was the only undergraduate advisee under the legendary computer scientist and Professor John McCarthy. He and Jared became friends because Jared had hair even longer than Aaron when he arrived at Stanford in 1996. Ah, how times change.
- Adam Berke, Community Development & Sales
Before joining Adroll.com, Adam was a part of Aptimus, a publicly traded CPL ad network recently acquired by Apollo Group. In his four years there, he took on almost every role in the organization: Business Development, Sales Operations, and Product Management. In his time building the Aptimus network and advertiser base, he took the company from $4.5 million in revenue to $16 million in 18 months.
- Peter Krivkovich, Biz & Ad Ops
Peter was last at Good Technology (acquired by Motorola) where he first reported to the President, then later to the CFO. He built and managed the company's financial model and provided support for Good's (somewhat complicated) channels. As the only resident MBA (Harvard), when he is not building rigorous financial models to make our publishers more profitable, he is making us look good with agencies.
- Brendan Doms, Web Magician
Brendan graduated from Olin (despite our best efforts), an all-engineering full-scholarship college. He started working on Adroll.com during his senior year. Previously, he founded a company funded by Y Combinator. He likes cookies. With milk.
- Valentino Volonghi, The Twisted Italian Stallion (J-1ified)
Valentino entangles objects in Twisted Matrix and then disentangles them at just the right moment. It works because he makes it work. And it always works. And if it does not, then give him a moment. Yes, see. Now it works. It was your network.
- Matt Colyer, System Seducer
Matt is a serial entrepreneur who woos the back-end with his magic engineering touch. As an alum of Olin and Y Combinator, Adroll is not Matt's first startup love, but it is where the passion goes now.
- John Lem, Mr. Community
John knows how to get the publishers in and keep them there. He's a wiz with email and letting the engineers know where the problems are.
- Matthew Pasternak, Senior Partner - Revenue
Matt brings decades of experience developing revenue and bringing business partners together in win-win relationships. Over the years, Matt has been instrumental in the launch and development of pioneering businesses and new markets. Matt was the SVP of Sales for Klipmart, the first entrant into the video ad serving market, where he grew revenue to almost $20M before it was acquired by DoubleClick. Before that, he was the VP of Sales for InsightExpress, an online brand advertising research company, and he launched and lead the Latin American operations for IRI.
